Your First Visit
As a new patient of Dr Jon, you and your child can expect the best treatment, both personal and medical. Upon arrival you'll be greeted with a smile and checked in. Any necessary forms will be discussed, completed, reviewed and/or updated. We will also take this opportunity to discuss any fees, insurance and payment methods.
Typically, most new patients will need age appropriate X-rays. This offers Dr. Jon a clear view of your child's mouth and allows him to better assess the health of your child's teeth jaws and accurately diagnose potential problems.
X-rays aren't needed every visit and radiation from dental X-rays is very low.
First visits are usually short and involve very little treatment. It's more of an opportunity to meet Dr. Jon in a friendly, non-threatening way. During the exam, we check your child's existing teeth for decay, examine their bite, and look for any potential problems with the gums, jaw, and oral tissues. If needed, we will clean any teeth and assess the need for fluoride. We also take this time to discuss dental developmental issues and answer any questions about oral health care.
Some of the topics Dr. Jon regularly discusses with parents are:
- Good oral hygiene practices for your child's teeth and gums and cavity prevention
- The need for fluoride treatment
- Thumb sucking, tongue thrusting and other oral habits
- Teething and other developmental milestones
- Proper nutrition
Methods of Payment
Finances should never keep you or your child from good oral health. From your initial phone call, we will gather information from you to verify dental benefits for those patients with insurance and do all we can to maximize the benefit to your family. We will also assist those patients with FSA and HSA accounts by providing you the appropriate paperwork for your submissions. Credit cards, checks and payment arrangements are used to provide flexibility for families in our practice.
You can shorten the length of your initial visit right now. First, download our New Patient Information form. Then, fill it out, print it and bring it with you to your appointment. You'll be one step ahead and can reduce waiting time.

We absolutely love Dr. Jon and his team. My 5 year old has unfortunately had to have lots of dental work done, at several different times. Dr. Jon took his time, but worked very fast, and at my daughter’s pace. He never pushed her and she felt very comfortable. His assistants were very helpful as well. It makes a world of difference when you have a team you trust. Thanks for providing that Dr. Jon.

A trip to the dentist for a child on the Autism Spectrum can be very overwhelming. Dr. Sierk and his entire staff have gone above and beyond to make our son feel comfortable and safe. Their loving kindness puts a brighter and wider smile on our son's face. Thank you for all that you do for our son.
